Loft Conversion

Discount for 3 houses in a row???

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

Hi, myself and my neighbours either side all want loft conversions. As there are 3 houses in a row, I am thinking we should be able to reduce the cost. Has anyone experience of this scenario? Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Unfortunately the materials will still cost the same and the lofts will still take the same amount of time so the contractor may offer a slight discount for good will it won’t be much.

Hello Like Corsham said the building material cost will be the same but some builders could give you a discount as they will have 3 jobs in one location. There are possible other saving you can make like building control. If the builder works on all 3 properties at the same time he can get the BC to inspect all 3 on the same day (you will most likely have to go private for this). Also Party wall agreements (you don't mention if you are terraced or semi) you can have some savings here if you all use the same surveyor or better still if you are all adjacent you can sign between you then all you have to worry about are the neighbours not extending that are adjacent. Hope that helps. If you need a structural engineer I would be more than happy to help you with your project. Also if you need a builder I can make some recommendations as well. Regards Chinedu
