Moving kitchen waste pipe

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.22 PM

I have a kitchen waste pipe that exits the back of house and connects to a shared downward rain pipe, which I have been informed is misconnected and should be connected to the soil waste pipe to the side of the house. There isn't a simple way to cross this over to the other side as to the back of the house I have a back door. I am wondering what my best options are to solve this. There is a bathroom next to the kitchen that is connected to the main soil pipe outside to the side of the building. But the distance is 4m from kitchen sink to the wall. Will the waste pipe need to be run under the floorboards to connect with the bath basin waste pipe? This would mean having to rip up the tiles in the bathroom to gain access.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there.. it is not good practice to connect the pipe that way but aslong as your foul and storm are going to the same drainage then it shouldn't be a problem.. but newer drainage have been separated into foul (sewer) and another for storage(rain water). If this is the case it would need to be changed..part h of the building regulations should help you Thanks scott
