Ceiling keeps cracking

I have artex ceiling, which didn't have any cracks at all. I had a plaster PVA the ceiling then plaster it. I could see bits of the pattern so wasn't happy with the job I got someone else out and they sealed it all then re plastered. I painted it with Johnston emulsion for new plaster. The ceiling has lots of cracks, he's been out 4 times to put this gauze tape over the crack and skim over it, I'm still getting cracks and all as he keeps saying is blaming the 1st plaster. Not so much asking what should they have done, but my question is what needs to be done from here as I can't move onto the next stage of the room till the ceiling is right Please help I'm so stressed with all this Thank you

I think the best option is to over board with new plaster board and skim.

Hi.Cut the joints.Do taping and jointing. Use:paper tape in joints Pva on top of ceiling 1 coat of bg joint filler 2 coats of bg joint cement Sanding down Paint Job done. All the best

I don't know what the answer is but I wouldn't have UniBond the ceiling I would have used thistle bond it it's got bits of grit in it which would helped the plaster bold better less chance of cracking to the artex . Me personally I would have talked the customer into overboarding then I know there's no comebacks

Best option would definitely be to overboard as the artex was used on the ceiling to hide the imperfections. They may have been loads of cracks already in the artex which then led to it coming through the new plaster
