Neighbours fence but attached to our post

So my neighbour thought the right side fence if us was ours as our previous neighbour put it up albeit incorrectly and he attached it to our post. She knows it's hers now after showing her the deeds but the fencers have followed the line and attached the last fence to our post you can see the line isn't straight I told them before it was erected the angle was vering and shouldnt it be attached to her end garden post not ours. They say they have to follow what was there before legally is this correct even if it was wrong?

your legal meant to follow the boundary line so if it was there in right place yeah if not and they strayed of course then that's totally different story some people say they had to follow the line cause off things in the way check the deeds and mark out where everything should be
