Lowering bathroom floor or raising kitchen floor - how easy is it to do?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.38 PM
I have an old terrace house where the bathroom leads straight off the back of the kitchen. I want to move the wall to make the kitchen bigger and the bathroom smaller however there's a step up to the bathroom (approx 10cm) - is it possible to lower the floor or will there be a reason it's like this? OR if not possible to lower which would be the preference, is it easy enough to raise the floor (could raise the kitchen to match) Any help or guidance much appreciated! Thanks

Depends on the construction of the floor i.e. Joist work or concrete slab generally i have found raising is a lot easier then lowering , obviously be aware if you are moving a wall check first to see if it is load bearing.
