Answers from experienced bathroom fitters please. As an experienced quality bathroom fitter, I am finding that every tile shop and even Wick's whom I used to work for no longer advice or even allow you to use plywood, I use plywood and treat with diluted pva glue and have never had a problem, however I understand other primers are better to use, can use please advice on the best primers out there for the plywood. I know I'm supposed to use cement based backer board but I'm old school.Any helpful advice appreciated

sbr or ive started using no more ply because you get a lifetime guarentee

Zinsser B-I-N Primer Sealer is the top for me

Ditra mat should be installed on plywood subfloors using modified thinset mortar, not unmodified. ... This makes it work better with plywood. Unmodified is adequate for use on concrete floors.
