Timber bifolds with square leaded glass

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.38 PM

Hi guys, Hoping someone could help. We are after a specific set of external bifold doors for our new kitchen/diner. We would like white timber bifold doors with square leaded glass. The dimension are Width: 3160mm and Length: 2100mm. I have found a few places who can provide either the timber bifolds or leaded glass but not a combination of both which is what we would really like. There are 2 places which I have found, however, the quotes were really high. I was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction if they know of companies that could help with this? I have tried Howdens but they have advised they only do the internal bifolds in timber @dynafit thanks for your reply. I am happy to pay in the region of 4k but the quotes I have been getting are 6k plus. I am based in Birmingham but I will give them a try.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, I am afraid there is no cheap solution. We supply 2 different bi-fold doors, one is a German product made from Aluminium, the other is Danish made from heat treated Beach wood. Unfortunately both can't do the lead in the glass, but in any case you look at about £1000/leaf as a bullpack figure. I have installed PVC bi-folds but I would not wholeheartedly recommend them. They are considerably cheaper, but this reflects also in the quality. Have you tried Blairs Windows in Greenock? https://www.blairswindows.co.uk/ they do bespoke items.

I think it is a fair answer, personally I would order the glass units seperately, have the installers fit the glass into the new frames.

Hello, if you want you can try Shackeltons in Pontefract. They are very good in quality. Good luck. 👍
