Cold bridging on french doors

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.38 PM

I have french doors I’m up in my loft conversion. The doors themselves could be about 18 degrees, but the part in the middle 13/14 degrees. This is attached / part of one of the doors . Is this an issue or normal? Was suggested there is cold bridging. How could it be fixed?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would need a bit more information to answer this question. Are these PVC or timber doors? I guess it is PVC as you say "it is attached"? Do the doors seal properly? If they seal properly then there is not much you can do about it. The frame is usually always worse in thermal performance than the glass, this is especially with windows that have a small or thin frame. If they don't seal and there is a draft, then you should be able to adjust the locking mechanism to increase the closing pressure and stop any draft.
