Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

I am making a concrete base for my garden potting area. How many bags of bags of ballast and cement will i need. They dry mix. The area is .56m3. I can not have the large bags has I have to carry it through my house so will be looking for the bags I can carry.

Hey Dominic, Unfortunately a bulk bag of ballast would be your ideal amount. You would need about 35 - 40 standard bags for the same amount of concrete which is unnecessarily expensive. You may be better off bedding in some old concrete slabs (try freecylce etc); if they're the thick-heavy ones, and it's only for potting, you can get away with just levelling them on sharp sand. Hope this helps Dan
