adding a toilet and sink to a upstairs cupboard

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.55 PM

hi i am looking to add a new toilet and sink to a upstairs cupboard . my current bathroom is down stairs the cupboard I want to use is close to the soil stack so connecting on to that is not a problem. my problem is the pluming to feed the sink and cistern . wondering if any one can point me in the right direction as to weather plastic pipe is suitable to do this with push fittings my current pipe work is all copper, and how best to find the correct pipework to feed from , ie can i connect on to pipes that feed the radiators or will i have to find other pipe work, i have just had the combi boiler removed from the room the cupboard is in and placed down stairs but not sure if i can connect to capped off pipe work left there from that job any hints tips and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Plastic pipe is absolutely fine, remember to use pipe inserts for each joint to reduce the chance of catching the o-ring. Be aware of joining push fittings to chromed pipes. The radiators are a separate system from the potable water, you should not use them. There will be a cold water feed to your boiler you could use and if it is a combi a hot water feed for taps that comes out that you could use. Please make sure you are not using the radiator pipes, definitely not good for your health.

It sounds like that you want to attemp to do the job yourself. Best thing it pay a plumber a 1 hour call out charge for him to properly investigate and see if it's possible to do a proper job.

An interesting post However you knowledge of basic plumbing seems very limited I would suggest you put a post on My Builder for a plumber to advise and possibly install your requirements
