Sequence of relaying a driveway and rebuilding a brick pier
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.55 PM
Hello, I have an existing concrete driveway and an electric gate system attached to two brick piers. The driveway in front of the gate (4x5m) is collapsing inwards (no proper drainage). One of the brick piers holding the gate is also leaning inwards. My question is what, and in what order, trades specialists would need to be involved in digging out the old driveway, rebuilding the brick pier, ensuring the electrical line is sufficient, rebuilding the pier (brick or steel), relaying the driveway, hanging the old gates and probably replacing the gate motors?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, definitely need a trade to take up the old drive way first, then that trade or yourself will have to consultant the chosen electriction to go over the next point of attack, the key point of this is the electriction calling by first the other trades involved in relaying the drive way will follow suit to the electrical system being signed off etc

Hi
Firstly the electric gate needs to be taken apart and detached from brick pier
The brick pier needs to be rebuilt or repaired properly or rebuilt from scratch at higher strength so this situation does not appear again
The driveway need to broken up and grab hire all old concrete needs to be removed
Acho drain need to fitted with a soakaway into ground or into closed drainage line
New driveway completed and then electric gate re installed and checked By registered electrician
