if my bathroom fan has its own on off switch do i need an isolator switch.

If the existing on-off switch is only single pole, then yes it needs a Double Pole isolation switch.

The fan has an switch for two reasons one is for safe isolation for maintenance and two is safety the switch should be triple pole to isolate live, switch live ,and neutral
