Bricklaying & Repointing

Engineering Brick vs Stock Bricks Differences

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.40 PM

We are looking at having our external garden wall being rebuilt, our understanding is that for very damp areas / north facing that engineering bricks would be the most durable act like glass when water hits / sits on them. Current wall has facing bricks all blown through frost and are saturated black colour. Any advice welcome. Thanks

If it's a very damp area I would use engineering bricks for the whole wall as soft bricks will suck up the water and when it freezes the wall will blow again.
