Salamander pump starts and stops when hot water is turned on?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

Pump has been working fine for over a year when it was installed. But now, when I turn the hot water tap/shower on the pump starts and stays on for about 7 seconds stops for around 3 seconds before starting again. This on and off cycle repeat until I turn tap/shower off. (Also, water does not start immediately takes a few seconds). Any ideas? FYI: I changed the shower head a couple of months ago. Noticed the water pressure was lower than previous one. Would it have anything to do with it?

Possibly a flow switch fault. I'd take the shower head off and see if it still faults like that with full flow into the bath with no head attached. If it's ok then swap the shower head for a larger one

If the flow rate has changed going through the pump , this can effect the way the pump works, depending on the demand for water in the household this can change, you dont want to run your pump dry as this damages them severely and you will need to get a new pump
