Heating comes up with hot water tank

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.41 PM

I have got nest installed recently with an old conventional boiler with hot water tank. The problem is that when I turn on the heating from the thermostat/mobile, I hear a click in the heat link but the heating does not start. However if I start hot water, the heating starts i.e. the radiators get hot, so somehow heating is linked with hot water. Is that a nest installation issue or something else?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like the system is gravity hot water. So you would need to set the nest the same. On the old timer they probably had to have the hot water on to run the heating. It's an old style of heating system. They would need to upgrade their system if they wanted to run it independently.

Probably the nest system you have for a gravity fed system has not been set up correctly There is a choice for this system in the settings mode
