New feather edge fence not secured to concrete posts in anyway.

Hello everyone, I have had a new fence project finish at home. There are a number of issue with them. Question one should the wooden rails be fixed in some way to the concrete posts ? Because there are not and I can push them with my middle finger and they move. Second question, should the panals overlap and by how much? Because they are not in many places, many of them are not straight. Any reply will be great many thanks.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Michael,
It sounds as though you've had a dodgy job I'm afraid. The cant or aris rails should be morticed into holes within each concrete post. Similarly, each feather board should overlap by at least an inch (10 per meter is a good guage). I usually check my vertical level every 5 feathers or so to make sure I'm staying on course.

All rails regardless of fence system should be securely Fixed too posts at both ends
Feather edge cladding overlapped to a minimum of 10%, eg 125mm width the overlap should be 12.5mm.
When Leveling pales for vertical can be discretionary but after every 5/6 Suits me.

I agree 100% with the given answer ,someone has done a dodgy job ,if panels are feather edge they should definitely overlap also should all be even and plum all alined all levelled

Hi it’s not good by what you’ve said the Cant rails which are horizontal should have a taper cut on them so when the feather edge boards are nailed on to can’t rails should hold everything in place. Hope this helps Nige.
