Fencing

Neighbour is having new patio up to a fence my landscapers are due to replace.

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.41 PM

Neighbour is having a new imprinted concrete patio running right up to our boundary fence (my fence). no problem except, this fence is going to be dug out and replaced with new concrete posts and gravel boards just weeks after they finish. Not going to be able to dig out old posts and put in new without causing any damage to his new patio. He is aware of my planned work. Will i be liable for damage to his patio that will almost definitely occur during my planned work. Nice neighbours don't want to fall out. They have booked in the contractors i am waiting for mine to be free.

If you haven't already, talk to your neighbor. Otherwise move your work forward if at all possible. Avoid conflict at all costs!

Have a chat with neighbour to avoid damage or conflict or complete fencing first

Or you could work together and ask their contractor if they could dig the old posts out and put the new ones in before they start the patio saves a whole lot of headache.
