Adjustable bath pop up plug
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.41 PM
Hi, the house I just moved into has a useless bath plug. It looks to be an adjustable pop up plug but it just sits loose in the plug, it does hold some water in bath but slowly drains out. Appears to be no pop up mechanism working. Which bit do I likely need to replace? Just the loose pop up plug itself or the whole thing? When it sits loose in the plug hole just now I have to use a suction cup or tape to be able to get it out! Cheers.

You can buy replacement brass mechanism or the pop up bit and a rubber washer for the plug

You can extend the screw on the actual plug itself that sometimes solves the problem. Failing that I’d replace the whole thing

Normally you can unscrew the centre pop-up mechanism and just use any old plug from Wilco, at least until you sort it out. There are flat ones which fit any size hole, often used in kitchen sinks, so needn't necessarily be the exact size.
