Multi room log burner

We are wondering if possible to place a log burner in between our living room and new extension. The walls are plasterboard and cavity wall and unfortunately do not have a chimney so would require a flue. Could I ask whether this would be possible and if yes how.

Hi there.. Not a hundred percent on this one as unsure of regulations...! However a 400mm minimum distance is required from twin-walled insualted flue liner. Ventilation is required also depending on regulations.. However, I think it's possibly doable. Hope this helps Thanks Carl Csf Gas Services

It’s usually possible to fit a prefabricated metal chimney. These can either go straight up and through the roof or, if the appliance will be against an outside wall, through the wall and up the outside of the building. There are quite a lot of rules and regulations governing the installation of chimneys and any work you do would to be notified to Building Control. I would strongly advise that you get an installer approved under a “competent person scheme” (usually, but not exclusively, HETAS) to fit chimneys and stoves.

Yes. Twin wall all the way. Combustible material at least 90mm. 3inch away. When going thought ceilings need firestop. Call HETAS engineer..they have to advise. Mark innes. Innes construction.
