Advice on non standard construction 1920’s bungalow with Asbestos Cement
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.22 PM
I am purchasing a 1920’s bungalow of non standard construction. It is timber frame with concrete panels. It needs central heating , a new bathroom, the loft insulating and ideally a wood burner fitted. The question is , is it safe, will the various trades needed work on it ? Thanks
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
Most trades will aslong as the timber has the correct supports fitted and that a structure report is done by a Structal engineer

Asbestos is safe, unless disturbed. You would really need to have an asbestos survey done, and any contractors will need to be shown before they undertake any works.
If they are going to disturb any asbestos it will need to be removed by an approved contractor. I hope this answers your concerns
