Row of tiles stuck on with grout
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.21 PM
Hi Just noticed another tiling problem. My electrician fitted a row of tiles above sink unit. I’ve discovered he put them on with grout. They seem well stuck. Will they eventually fall off? He plastered the back of them with the stuff. Should I remove them and start again or will they be ok? Thanks for any help

It would be a good to take them of and redo it with proper wall adhesive as they will eventually fall of

While I can agree with the previous answer it's not very helpful. Grout is not designed to stick tiles onto walls but it will do the job. There is on the market a combined adhesive/grout but I would tend to use adhesive to fix the tiles and a grout to grout the tiles. All this being said, I would think that your tiles are going to stay where they are for quite a long time.

Hi , yes they will eventually come off and should be removed and start again.
That said, if you say there well stuck on and you're ok with the way they look i can't see why you can't leave them on.
Hope that helps.

Hello, how unfortunate... They maywell be on now but grout and adhesive do 2 completely different jobs....as do a tiler and electrician.
