Best Locaiton to install Megaflo

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.38 PM

Hi, I have conventional heating system9 cold water tank in loft, hot water tank on first floor and boiler in garage) I want to install Megaflo but I am confused what is the best location to install Megaflow. My options are: 1. Replace the first floor hot water tank with MegaFlow( plenty of space available). Pros: Re-use existing pipe work linked to the old hot tank leading to less cost. 2. Install Megaflo next to boiler( bette flow, but more pipe work required leading to more labour cost) Note: I have 22 ml mail pipe line and 2.5 bar pressure flow I would be thankful for advise and guidance. Regards Nish

If possible and as you’ve already said, the existing hot water tank cupboard is ideal..Bear in mind that the Megaflo does require an overflow which needs to go through an external wall or to a waste pipe in which case it will need a trap and a tundish...Another option you may think about is to locate it in the loft in the area above the existing tank cupboard so freeing up the cupboard space where the existing tank is.

In an ideal world you want your cylinder next to the boiler and mains incoming water. However in his situation it could cost hundreds so it's completely tailored to the job and how much you want to spend

The mega flow can be situated any where in the house as it’s pressurised. Hot out let us 22mm to give the best performance to bathrooms. There will need to be 22mm pressure relief pipe work terminated in waste that’s suitable or at ground level with appropriate guard over. Horizontal tanks are ideal for tight loft spaces and does free up space but will need to supported correctly as the weight when full is pretty heavy. 1l=1kg so add that up.
