my house was plastered all outside a few years ago now i am going to paint do i need a sealant on first

Make sure the surface is clean then coat render with stabilizer allow to dry and coat with a good quality exterior paint.

If the wall has never been painted before then I would seal the wall first

Definitely agree with the above two answers. If the wall hasn’t been painted before, it must be sealed first.

you do not need a sealer as it has been left for so long .any new render should be sealed.
