Can I avoid disturbing bathroom tiles when installing a new electric shower and quadrant enclosure

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.59 PM

My elderly parents are looking to purchase a property with a rather small bathroom that has a freestanding rolltop bath. They would need a new electric shower and a quadrant enclosure installing instead. The existing floor and wall tiling (everything is fully tiled) is beautiful and we would not want to disturb it if possible. Is this a realistic proposition? They could not cope with too much upheaval or extra expense. Any advice or comments gratefully received. Thanks ................................................... THANKS FOR RESPONSES. Parents have now decided they could not cope with such a small bathroom, even if redesigned as suggested. But I will know what the options are for the next time the question arises, as it certainly will. Thanks again

We would definitely need to take some tiles off only where necessary. To bring the electrical supply and water supply to the electric shower unit. I would say from experience that it’s impossible procedure to complete without any disruption. But anything that would be taken off, would be put back and looking good as new.

Hello, Yes the cables could be surface mounted in trunking the water pipe too or done in chrome on the wall although some people do not like the look.

Another option is to carry the water pipe and the electricity cable through the ceiling or the wall near the bathroom.with previous inspection
