What length of time do i need to leave before i can wallpaper my new build?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.41 PM
We have bought a new build house, and I want to decorate as soon as I can. Could you please advise me on wallpapering? Do I need a cross liner paper on the wall first before I hang the paper? and how long do I need to leave it before I can paper. Someone said that I need to leave it at least a year :( due to the wall shrinkage and drying out process. What would you advise? Many thanks

initially, all the new plaster needs a good couple of weeks to thoroughly dry. the problem with new builds is settlement. cracks will appear with settlement and they can be dealt with quite easily if the wall is painted but if there is wall paper it would have to come off.they say to leave it a year after which time, generally, the property has settled ie.stopped moving
