Hipped Front porch to 1930s house

I’m trying to get a front porch built for my 1930s house and am wondering if it is best to search for a carpenter, roofing company to quote or a general builder. Any advice please? I live in Stone Staffordshire.

A 'Cut Roof as apose to a Premade Truss roof is performed by a Roofing Carpenter, the latter being widespread and about 80% the norm.
Therefore, due to the fall in demand for cut Roofs, so the availability or number of Roofing carpenters in existance today.
Certainly they'll be some Carpenters and General Builders, like myself Adept to 'Cutting on' a 'Hipped Roof', just a phone call or refferal from the phone call away.

Yes this work can be easily carried out by a qualified carpenter/builder (ie pitched hipped roof etc to a porch or any standard cut roof

Most time served joiners can cut in a hip on a roof. You need to check that they are au fait with roof joinery before engaging them. There are only 3 cuts to know plumb cut side cut and seat cut. All hips and valleys are at 45 degrees to the roof so the geometry is easy regardless of the slope or run of the roof. Clive Edwards
