What is the best adhesive for securing foam underlay to wooden floorboards?

Staple the underlay to the floorboards.

I would use contact adhesive spray both sides let it go tacky then place it be careful when you place it it cannot be adjusted

I usually staple the underlay and use a bit off spray in doorways for a bit extra security.

You can use a staple hammer or spray adhesive both work just fine but just do 1 run of underlay at a time. That works for me .
