i have painted straight on to new plastered walls

i have painted straight on tonew plastered walls with something called base coat by polycell. it hasnt been watered down but is water based. is this going to be aproblem?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Would of been better to use a watered down white (non vinyl) matt emulsion, around 50/50, don't use PVA. Pollycell "base coat" is aimed at the DIY market, and is a total a waste of money.. How ever if you've read the back and done what it tells you, then you should be ok..

No, if the paint is specifically for new plaster it should be fine to put straight onto new plaster. Regards Platinum decorators

Hi. If the paint stayed on the walls or ceiling ok when you did it and did not lift you should be ok- no panic. Give it a bit of sand down 120 grit for a nice finish and if you need to touch up to get the colour about the same all over do so. Then it is all yours to put on what final colour you want. No. Polycell base coat is good undercoat, which means it's got good adhesive capability. Watering down ma cause more problems than good. Now your walls are ready to be colour painted. Good luck.
