Kitchen Fitting

Should a party wall be damp proofed and copper pipes insulated behind kitchen units?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.41 PM

Copper pipes are buried in to wall but not insulated. How does a builder/plumber/kitchen fitters prevent them from corroding?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

How do you know the damp issue is not in your neighbours house? What damage have the builders done? I personally have never seen insulated pipes behind units. Always a first time though.

There seems to be to separate questions. 1. The party wall being water proofed , Is the party wall in the basement or ground floor ? Was there any building regs ? Is it in house, flat, semi, terraced, ?, but as a general guidance , if there is an issue with party wall damp then both parties share the same party wall in question . 2. insulation of exposed copper pipes(internally Then no it is not required . I hope this helps
