What roof should I go for?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.41 PM

Hi, Just after some advice. Do I go for a proper tiled roof on our existing conservatory or insulate the current one and have a suspended roof! Which one would allow more light? Would there be much difference in heat letting in / out. Thanks in advance

Hi, There are many companies out there who can offer you a service, as to where, your conservatory roof can be completely renovated with a modern insulation system, which regulates the temperature of your room, for example, it will stop your conservatory being cold in the winter and hot in the summer. This can be done by,firstly, installing a high performance six layer multifoil to your existing aluminium roof spars (internally)then finishing it off with either upvc cladding, or by traditional plaster. After this, the external glass or polycarbonate sheets would be removed , and a breathable membrane would be fitted, along with new battons, which would then have a toughened plastic lightweight slates or a lightweight steel roof tile system. I hope this has been helpful. Regards, Adrian AD ROOF SPECIALISTS

I wouldn't go for real tiled roof because of the Weight issue We use a leka tile effect light weight roof all grp very strong and light weight and no timber inside Then you can have electric velux or full length glass in sections to give light

The ONLY solution is to fully remove and fit a new fully insulated tiled roof , covering over or using the existing roof frame is basically cosmetic and does NOT provide the adequate u value of 0.18uv as required by building regs , we as a company have removed many roofs that have been covered over internally and externally, building regs and insurance companies do not approve this method.
