Which trade to replace porch posts?

I have a open porch/ canopy with a sloping tiled roof above - the posts and balustrades of which are wooden and are pretty rotten and dated looking. I would like to replace with either metal posts/glass railing or some of that recycled plastic wood stuff. The underside of the roof has plastic cladding on which I expect will also need replacing if the wood is removed - problem is I have no clue where to start with getting quotes on this - is it a job for a general builder? A fabricator? A joiner? Please help! I’m not sure if they need to be structural posts to hold up the roof either? Seems such a simple idea to update but I just don’t no where to start! Thanks
