Who do I contact for a broken latch on double glazed window

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.20 PM

The handle/latch of my bathroom window has snapped off, can it be replaced or do I have to buy a new window?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You should be able to remove and replace the latch.

You can contact most glazing company’s, many of them offer servicing so no need to replace the whole window and you can get advice on how to look after them Better to save money on future issues. It’s surprising how little aftercare advise people get from double glazing firms.

The Handle can easily be replaced, a local glazing company should be able to put you in touch with someone to do the job

The handle should be easily replaceable. Replacement handles are under £10 from Screwfix or the like. Usually just 2 screws, pull out the old and insert the new. Tighten the screws and job done.
