My staircase was stripped and he took half the paint of the skirting boards on the staircase

Hello, I had my stairs stripped and sanded but he used a heat gun and took some of the paint of the skirting board the runs alongside the stair case, I don't know what the paint is, I think its gloss but not sure, do I paint over it (did a bit and it looks uneven ) or just replace the skirting board (is this very expensive) Thanks!

Replacing skirting is not overly expensive but it can be disruptive and damage the walls , fine wood filler over damaged area and sanding will be cheaper and you can get a good finish with a bit of effort.

Hello Don't over painting as you will see the difference My idea either replace the skirting board with the same match or head the other area affect it and prime paint first then paint gloss be careful there is no wallpaper on the wall as can catch fire from heat gum if u have it then replace the skirting board
