Can we install a fence on the boundary
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.20 PM
Hi everyone, We have an open field at the back of the house. The council has installed a very high metal fence. Looking at plan, there is a boundary area between our garden shed and the public open field 's fence (5 metres) . This area is not used by anyone, all covered in wild plants. We intend to install a second fence at the back of the garden shed for added security and may be used this space for planting trees and additional space for a shed. Can we do this? (Our neighbours have extended the garden shed about 3 m outward). Many thanks

Hi Neil,
Yes, you're well within your rights here, as long as you maintain your boundary limits as per the deeds. Similarly, there's no planning or regulations required for fencing under 2m.
Hope this helps
