Wall removal if load bearing or not And can be taken out without being supported with a beam
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.37 PM
Hi just wanted to know if you can remove a wall between a galley kitchen and a dining room if it’s a load-bearing wall because it’s got a beam running from the kitchen through the wall and then into the chimney breast in the dining room so my question is can that wall be removed and will that beam that’s already there support Everything above
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, It will depend on the span of the room and what it is bearing above and if the wall is load bearing or the beam is. I would of thought that the wall will be and that you would need a steel ibeam to replace the wall, but it is best to get someone out to talk through it with you.
