Securing a shower tray riser kit to existing porcelain floor
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.59 PM
Hi there, What is the best way to secure a raised stone resin tray using a riser kit onto an existing porcelain floor. The feet are adjustable but do not have any pre-existing holes to potentially secure the floor. This is a replacement tray, as the old one failed to water damage, so it is situated just underneath the existing tiles.

Glue the feet using grip fill, squeeze good silicone under the tiles and onto the edge of the tray to form a good seal when the tray is raised to meet them.
Ideally you should take off the bottom row of tiles to make a positive seal before re-tiling.

To glue the shower tray down I would suggest CT1 as opposed to Gripfill it seems be far stronger and less prone to failure

Yes grip fill or a good adhesive silicone could be used to secure the feet to the floor but I would use tape like classi seal or such to make the joint between shower tray and wall then retile the bottom row
