Electric shower not working properly
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.58 PM
New house (and shower), was working fine when we moved in but a couple of months later we need to turn it up to full heat for a bearable shower, unless its too cold. Water pressure goes down too. Not sure what has caused it, but how do we check? Or do we need to replace the whole thing? X

This could be thermostat in shower not working properly . Water pressure could be running appliances ie washing machine or could be blockage at iso valve. An electrician can tell u if thermostat is gone

Sounds to me like the thermostat is faulty in the unit itself.
Rather than try to source parts I would advise replacing the shower much more cost effective, and also the quickest fix to your problem 🙂

Check the simple things first. Check the mains tap is fully open. If there is an isolator valve for the shower check that is fully open too.
The shower unit should have a small mesh filter on the water inlet side, remove it and clean it of any obstructions (isolate the water supply to the shower first) . If this does not cure the problem it may be a faulty flow valve or thermostat.
