What glue should I use to glue a metal gate latch back on to a metal gate?

A couple of years ago, the latch for the metal gate at the front of my house broke off. I've ignored it for a while but now I want to fix it. What would be the best glue to use to attached the latch back to the gate?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A "Liquid Metal" putty may fix it, but personally I think it would be better to have it welded

Personally I would either weld it or Bolt it back on
