Roof "fixed" by previous owner but surveyor thinks otherwise
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.55 PM
Hi, I'm just wondering where I stand with this. I'm buying a house at the moment which when both a builder and a surveyor looked around seems to have some deflection in the rear extension roof. The vendors apparently knew about this problem and had some roofers in to fix it in February. If the roof has already deflected again does this mean the last roofers did a bad job? Or could this just be a problem that we will always have with this roof? As far as I know the vendors still have the paperwork from the company that did the job in February, but would I be able to go back to them to ask them to fix it, if it is their fault, or would the current owners have to do that? And more would they be likely to redo the roof 6 months later, or am I best just to get a new contractor in? Thanks Maria
