Boiler is leaking slightly from one of the pipes

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.58 PM

Hello My boiler lost pressure yesterday so I refilled it but by too much so I have bleeded the radiators so the pressure is now 1. I thought this might be why the boiler is leaking but it is still leaking slightly. The boiler was only fitted in 2015 so it's not that old. Any idea why it is leaking? Does it need tightening? It seems to be one of the pipes which goes into the filing loop.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Make sure your filling valves are closed when filled. If leak is obvious, reachable and you can sort it with spanner and pliers. Otherwise pay call out charge and have engineer check it out. At least you have a professional take a look to make it safe.

This could be a very simple fix, may only need a tighten up on the nut. Or you may need a new filling loop. Get a qualified plumber to come and take a look for you should be straightforward.

Leave the filling loop closed and get someone out to look at the leak could be an easy fix for a competent engineer
