Can I lay felt on a wet tough and groove summer house

Have a summerhouse which hasn’t been treated can I lay felt on the wet tongue and groove roof?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Moira, It would be best to let the t&g dry out first, but I know that's near impossible at the moment. I would also consider a sheet of dpc under the felt for extra-future protection. Similalry, consider shingles over standard roof felt for smarter look. All the best Dan

You can lay felt on any base as long as its dry and you use a primer base and it's usually a good idea to use torch on so the bitumen creates a good seal.

If you are going to use torch on felt the answer would no with out drying it out if you are going nail the felt it wouldn't be a problem it would let it breath and dry out through time Billy w g roofing ayr

The roof needs to dry and a breathable membrane installed if not mould will be prevalent.
