Lifting a summerhouse

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.39 PM

Similar to my last question, rather than moving the summerhouse, how easy would it be to lift and how? I have some decking underneath it and the previous owners stored rubble under it rather than disposing of it. I want to lift the summerhouse, get rid of the decking and the rubble, have a concrete foundation and then lower on the same spot. The summerhouse is both wired and guttered but I would only need to lift it long enough to get the decking and rubble removed and have a new foundation laid. The rest of the garden will hopefully be landscaped and I will have a new lawn area and patio and the old part of the decking we cannot get to will just make the garden look unfinished. I really don't want to dismantle it, is lifting and raising it possible long enough to remove what's under it and having it redone?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It is going to depend on a number of factors, weight, construction. The easiest way of doing this without spending a lot of money is use poles as runners and move to the new location

You could move the shed by rolling it on scaffold poles or something similar

It all depends on the size of the summer house? It would be possible depending on size and weight and if it was to be lifted by machinery or manually. Screw some Hefty Batons to the outside of the into the frame work of the summerhouse and use those as lifting points.
