Insulating a Garage
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.39 PM
Hello, We have an extension (previous owners) whereby they converted an existing 1 third size garage into a study. They never insulated the front wall - where the garage door used to be. This is now a window with a type of pvc cladding (?) underneath. However it gets insanely cold!!! The other three walls are all insulated as part of the main house and there is also a radiator. This front wall is just a single skin. Am i right in thinking i can ‘stud’ the walls and then fit a cellotex/kingspan foil lines insulation and plasterboard over the top? So i need barrier control membrane? Vapour barrier? There would be no way of creating a void. Also ceiling and floor already insulated so this does feel like an oversight!
