pipe centres for radiators
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.40 PM
I'm thinking of replacing an old radiator in downstairs loo, can't increase width so going vertical. Will use existing floor pipes with 470mm pipe centres, what width of radiator should I purchase - do I need to allow for angle valves? For instance I've seen a Aluminium vertical rad with 375mm pipe centres, would this be OK?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Pat, my advice would be keep the same width radiator and go for a double convector or p+ but if ya want a towel rail alter the pipe work.

You’ll need to allow a additional 90mm for the angled radiator valves
