Installed fiberglass roof leaking
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.40 PM
My fiberglass roof is leaking. Builder Installed roof in August, it is now 6 months later and still no follow up. Called them numerous time. Although they did send someone out but the guy speaks very little english. Keeps saying we can only test the roof on a dry day for water leakage, and keeps using the same excuse every time we ring. What can I do if he does not cooperate? Yes, I have a guarantee for 25 years. but the person is unwilling to communicate. I may get a second opinion.

We are really sorry to hear this. It looks like the surface hasn't been installed properly. It is very difficult to locate the leak as it can be a really small crack, probably a couple of them. I am affraid it will result with redoing the job completely. It's always better to check the reviews from clients first. I would report the company who provided you with the job and to find the professionals to check it out. Is there a guarantee? Should be about 20-25years. Good luck with that

Looks like another grp roof failure, stick to what is tried and tested, you won't beat 3 layer felt or asphalt roofs , all this 25 year guarantee is a load of rubbish, grp hasn't even been used on roofs in this country for 25 years !! ,a grp course takes half a day to complete then suddenly they are qualified roofers , sorry it doesn't work like that , my advice would be to find a reputable flat roofing company to take the grp off and replace it with asphalt or 3 layer felt , hope this helps.

I don’t think you’re going to get any joy out of the persons what carried out the work. I would re coat all of the roof to stop any more damage.
