Putting a summerhouse in garden. Been advised to put down slab area for summerhouse. So using slabs 600 x 600. Simmer house 12ft x 10ft. Advised to have a 2inch overhang for summerhouse. My question to prevent damp at what point do I put DPM down on top of slabs or under slabs if under at what point. Thank you

I'd advise having a concrete pad. Better for stability with a good foundation. Better for insulation as well. Hope this helps

It depends on what sub base you’re having, usually you would lay your DPM before your concrete base.

HI Brian,
You want at least 100mm of 20mm concrete or ready-mix. They sell ready-mix by the cubic meter so you'll need apporxinately (3 x 3.6 x 0 1m). Your DPC should go at the bottom of the pad; it stops the pad sinking and prevents the concrete drying out too quickly when you're tamping it. If you do opt for slabs, as long as your sub-base is good (again, 100mm of MOT), I wouldn't worry about a DPM. Your summerhouse should be on bearers which allows air flow and prevents any damp.
All the best
Dan
