Regarding Dimplex XLE 150

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.19 PM

Good afternoon . My XLE 15 is overheated , do not understand why . It was set to consume energy from oo:oo until 07:00 but was not connected to Economy 7 socket . Now after being restarted consuming energy constantly . The fan works OK , as been set up . Hi , thanks for your answers . So can be a problem with thermostat after the XLE was overheated . I understand it should turn off when required temperature in room is reached , but it keeps on working . . Foe example : I was set 20 degrees on the control panel and temperature in the room reached 25 . The heater must stop taking energy regardless of what source it was connected . For example I do not have economy 7 and I connected it to a regular power socket . Thanks in advance

Hi Alek, all Dimplex XLE models need to be connected to both Econony 7 and normal outputs, without this they will not work properly, get an electrician in to sort this out.

It sounds like the thermostat has stopped working Turn the heater down to minimum setting And see if it remains at a low temperature If not you will require an electrician to repair it if you are controlling the heater from a timeclock check the operation of the time clock If you are running both sides of the heater from one supply there’s a chance you have burnt the clock out The heater should have two independent supplies one off-peak one on peak

Hi Alex! All Dimpex economy 7 (storage heaters) require 2 supply cables , one for peak and one for off peak at the same time. Otherwise it will not work properly.

Yes, good answer Joseph and Electrical, it also says not intended to be plugged into a normal socket outlet.
