Shed Replace or Repair

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.37 PM

I have a 10x7 Reverse lean to pent roof garden shed, and the roof is totally rotten. Due to the rain the wooden floors inside are now wet and the rear panel is also wet. It has an electric supply (all switched off) lights & power switch inside. Is it better to replace the shed with a new one or to repair the roof, floor and back panels?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, would depend on the quality of the current build and essentially how much you have to spend on a new one and what you want to use it for, is it still going to be just a shed ? Send me some pics and I'll gladly have a look and give you my honest opinion

If the panels are only wet but in good condition (not rotten), then just replace the roof and allowed to dry completely.

Sometimes it’s better to just bite the bullet and buy a new shed. You could replace the rotten wood but later down the line there could be other rotten wood that you could of missed or hasn’t shown yet. It would be cheaper replacing the bits you need but myself personally I would just buy a new one

With the roof and floor gone its better to replace. You could be out more making a quick fix just to find out it wasn't worth it.
