When someone comes to give you a quote ask them to send you the quote by email or text so you have a document proof of the price given by the contractor

agree with above i always send the quote via email txt or on mybuilder that way everything is documented and clear to see thanks

I always use the my builder quote builder so you have a clear scope of the work to be completed and the price you’ll be paying for everything listed. If any parties involved then have any issues its all clearly documented and you won’t pay anymore then agreed.
