Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.37 PM
Hi I scraped paint off , sanded , filled and painted my stone exterior sills last year ( hours of work !) they have already peeled and I’ve started all over again .. scraped off any loose paint, sanded again but need some advice before I do this wrong again !!im thinking I used the wrong filler or didn’t put a primer on before the painting .. if I put a picture up could someone give me some advice what to do next thank you

You cant post pictures here.
A really good primer for exterior masonry is zinsser peel stop.
Really does do what it says on the tin.
What did you paint them with?
I like using bedec msp on sills

The last answer was very good , but you could also use stabalising solution after you have done all your prep work, just make sure you use exterior trade paints as these are far superior to your average diy paint.
